The restoration of antique and collectible wicker furniture comes from a true love of the art form.  Early pieces of wicker furniture were hand woven and no two pieces were ever alike. Many of those pieces are now over one hundred years old (true antiques) and have survived because of the quality of materials used in their early production.  Over the years, many of these pieces of furniture have been placed in the attic and forgotten.  They have also been put up in the rafters over the garage, or have sat on a porch and been used and abused.

In 1983, Allison took her love for the art form and her knowledge of furniture repair and began restoring these collectible and antique pieces of wicker furniture for individual customers in northern Arizona.  She then expanded her business to include wicker restoration work for resorts, restaurants, decorators and antique dealers in the Phoenix/Scottsdale metropolitan area.  The name of the business was The Seat Weaving Shop.  

Due to the success of her business, Allison and her shop were recognized in Southwest Airline's in-flight magazine "Spirit" in a feature article about collectible wicker furniture.  She was also featured on the front page of the "At Home" sections of the Phoenix Gazette and the Prescott Sun newspapers.  In addition, she has written articles about the history of collectible wicker furniture for the Arizona Antique News & Southwest Antique Journal.  Allison eventually retired from the business and sold the Seat Weaving Shop to one of her employees.  It is still in business today in Arizona.

In 2014, Allison and her partner Ron moved to the quaint hamlet of Ashville, in western New York State, where they formed Two Olde Snowbirds LLC, dedicated to the restoration and preservation of antique and collectible wicker furniture, as well as seat weaving of all types.  Combining their collective knowledge and love of collectible wicker furniture and antiques, they offer expert craftsmanship and outstanding service.  Their motto is: "As long as the structural integrity of a piece is either intact, or can be repaired, just about anything can be restored."
